Emma M. Mankey Hidem
Emma M. Mankey Hidem is our staff associate producer. Emma grew up in Minneapolis, MN and knew from a young age that she wanted to pursue a career in film. In high school, she attended the Perpich Center for Arts Education with a focus in media arts - film, video and photography. A National Merit Scholar, she went on to New York University's Tisch School of the Arts, completing her B.F.A. with honors in Film and Television production in just three years, as well as a minor in Religious Studies. Through NYU she also studied at the prestigious FAMU film school in Prague.
Upon graduating from Tisch in 2007, Emma worked as an Associate Producer for Academy Award-winning director Ross Kauffman (Born Into Brothels) on various projects including the short documentary Wait For Me, which premiered at the New York Film Festival in 2008 as part of the centerpiece of the festival with Clint Eastwood's Changeling. In her spare time, she has served as editor on several short documentaries and she is also the Founder/Editor of the music blog, Guilt Free Pleasures. In 2010, she moved to Washington, DC and worked as a News Producer/Editor for the award-winning PBS show Religion & Ethics: NewsWeekly until finally arriving at The Johnson Group in June 2011.
